How do I install PowerPlugs?

The installation of PowerPlugs Ultimate Combo is very easy. The PowerPlugs: Ultimate Combo suite includes an installation program that automatically starts up when you put the CD in the drive. The installation program will quickly and easily guide you through the installation process. But before you get started, please follow the instructions on each of the 3 notes below:
Note 1: As with any new software installation, make sure you have all other software applications closed.

Note 2: If you plan to use PowerPlugs in PowerPoint 2002 or higher, before you proceed with the installation of PowerPlugs, please do the following -
1. Open PowerPoint.
2. Go to the Tools menu. Select Macro>Security. If the security level is set to High, change it to Medium or Low.
3. Close PowerPoint. Proceed with the installation of PowerPlugs.

Note 3: If your computer is configured in a networked Win NT/2000/XP-based environment, it is important that during installation of PowerPlugs, your Windows configuration (log-in ID) be allowed "full administrator rights" on the local PC. If you are not normally granted full administrative rights, have your system administrator do the following:
1. Temporarily assign full administrator rights to the user's log-in ID.
2. Log onto the system with the user's log-in ID.
3. If possible, temporarily disable your anti-virus software (some anti-virus programs interfere with the installation of plug-ins).
4. Install PowerPlugs.
5. Change the administrative rights of the user back to the normal user rights level. The PowerPlugs tools should then be accessible once they log back in. If your computer is just a personal PC (and Windows XP is not configured in networked environment), disregard note 3 above.

When I attempt to install one of the PowerPlugs software products, the following error message displays: "16 bit Windows subsystem. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS Microsoft Windows applications." What should I do?

It appears that your Windows configuration is not recognizing our InstallShield installer for PowerPlugs, which happens to be a 32-bit application (for Windows) – not a "16-bit application" (runs under MS-DOS). According to Microsoft, something has caused your AUTOEXEC.NT file (or CONFIG.NT or COMMAND.COM file) to be placed in the Windows Repair folder and it is supposed to be in the Windows System 32 folder (refer to http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;324767&Product=winxp). The solution to this installation problem is very simple: Go to C:\Windows\Repair. Copy (or Cut) the AUTOEXEC.NT file. PASTE the AUTOEXEC.NT file into C:\Windows\System32. Run the installer for your PowerPlugs software again. You should then have a successful installation.
