How
can I add custom graphics to headings?
In order to truly add custom text (or graphics) to your PowerPlugs:
Headings components, you will need to use a paint program such as
Photoshop. Simply adding custom text or graphics and saving the file
in the .PNG format will not work because the alpha channel has to
be edited. Please follow the steps below to edit a heading using
Photoshop:
- Open the PowerPlugs: Headings style component
you wish to customize.
- Create or copy and paste your custom text
into a new layer and position it to your preference. If your custom
text (including effects) is made up of multiple layers, you should
combine into one layer. At this stage, make sure that the text
is in its final position and do not move it.
- Now select your custom text. In Photoshop,
hold down the Ctrl key and click on the text layer. Right clicking
on the layer thumbnail and selecting "Select Layer Transparency"
will also work.
- Next, click the Channels tab. (If the Channels
window is not open, go to the Window menu and select "Show
channels").
- Click on the Alpha 1 channel to make it
the active channel.
- Next, set the foreground color to 100% white.
- In the Edit menu, select Fill or type Alt+Delete.
Your selection should be filled with white.
- Hit Ctrl+D to deselect.
- In the Channels window, click on the RGB
channel.
- You are now ready to save the file. In the
File menu, select "Save a copy" and select .PNG for
the file type. Name and save into a custom folder.

This
tip also applies to paint programs that support the .PNG format and
allow you to edit the color channels. Commands may vary by program. |
