How to Insert Pictures Use Insert/Picture/from File and navigate to the Style Set folder you are using. Select the word or part you need and choose Insert. Top of page 2. How to Size the Image Select the picture; use Format/Picture/Size, enter a percentage to set the size you need (Keep Lock Aspect Ratio checked); choose OK. By the way, you can see a preview of the size you selected by clicking the Preview button while the menu is still open. Top of page 3. How to Select All Objects As you layer images and text, which overlap, you may need to select all the objects on a slide. Put your cursor on the slide and use Edit/Select All. If the slide icon (in the outline frame) is highlighted, this command selects all the slides. Top of page 4. How to Group Objects Select the first object you wish to group. Hold down your SHIFT key and continue selecting objects for the group. When you have selected all of the objects you wish to group, use Draw/Group. (Ungroup is available on this same menu.) Top of page 5. How to Set the Stacking Order The transparent background of the objects allows for stacking of many layers. As you layer images and text, which overlap, you can choose the stacking order by selecting a specific object and using Draw/Order. You can then choose to move the selected object to the top, back or other position in the stack. Top of page 6. How to Select Individual Objects As you layer images and text, which overlap, it may be difficult to point to a specific object for selection. Simply select any object and then use you TAB key to cycle through all the objects on the slide until the object you need is highlighted. Top of page 7. How to Apply Another Background As you develop your presentation, you may wish to change backgrounds. To change the background for the entire presentation, of to View/Master/Slide Master. From there, use Format/Background/Fill Effects/Picture navigate to the background folder, select a background and Apply to All. To change backgrounds for a single slide, use Format/Background/Fill Effects/Picture navigate to the background folder, select a background and Apply. Top of page 8. How to customize Text Open the PowerPlugs: Headings Getting Started presentation, find the color and style for the selected style. Using the Text tool, enter your new text and set the appropriate font, size, and color. Position it over the shape you are customizing. By the way, it often helps to zoom in on the image (View/Zoom) while you align. Top of page 9. Why do my Headings images look dithered in the preview/editing mode (“Slide
view”)? Update:
This problem has been fixed in PowerPoint 2002 The fonts used in the Headings styles can be obtained either for free or be purchased from various font resources.
