Wiz Kid

"Wizard Hat: I took the catalog object apart - deleted the inside cone and the bottom ring, and just used the outside cone. The only exception is his hat, which I left as is.

Hourglass: I dissected it, and saved only the little wooden balls that make up the arms of the stand. The one for the head was left round, just textured, colored, & re-sized. Then I used duplicates and stretched them to make the hands, feet, and nose. By stretching the ball into an oblong shape, then flattening it out, you can get eyes.

Fonts: I used the lower case letter 'o' from Times New Roman for the mouth, squished it around until I got the shape & angle I wanted, then set it to animate on rotate right (because of the way it was turned). It had to be positioned half in and half out of the head in order to make it appear his mouth moves - part of the font disappears into the head as it rotates, which changes the appearance of his mouth as he 'talks'. I used the lower case 'c' from Comic Sans MT for the ears, beveled, stretched, and flattened, then stuck them into the head. I used Monotype Sorts uppercase H (which is a star), beveled & texured it, and assigned a color - then stuck those into the hands."
