CrystalGraphics' mission is to become
the dominant provider of compelling and easy-to-use 3D graphics software
that helps businesses communicate more successfully -- through presentations,
the Web and videos. Its primary focus is on the goal of bringing
TV-style effects to PowerPoint presentations in the form of its “PowerPlugs”
product family.
PowerPlugs is the winner of the Presentations
magazine 1999 Standing Ovation Award for “Best PowerPoint Plug-ins.”
Products
In pursuit of its mission, CrystalGraphics
has recently introduced the following innovative products:
- In June 1998, CrystalGraphics
introduced PowerPlugs: Transitions I, the first and
only plug-in for Microsoft PowerPoint 97 and 2000. PowerPlugs:
Transitions I energizes PowerPoint presentations with TV-style 3D
transition effects.
- In December 1998, it released
PowerPlugs: Transitions II. This second volume of effects
adds a new collection of captivating 3D transition effects for PowerPoint
97 and 2000.
- In April 1999, it released
PowerPlugs: PhotoActive FX I. PhotoActive FX adds beautiful
still and animated photo effects to Microsoft PowerPoint 97 and
2000 presentations.
- Then, in August 1999, it released
PowerPlugs: PhotoActive FX II. This second volume of effects
adds a new collection of eye-catching still and animated effects
to PowerPoint presentations.
- In November 1999, it released
PowerPlugs: SuperShapes I & II. SuperShapes adds attention-getting
shape effects, such as animated arrows and buttons, to direct audiences’
attention to key points in your presentations. Each CD has over
140 still and animated shape effects.
- In January 2000, it released
PowerPlugs: Charts. The world’s most powerful charting plug-in
for PowerPoint. It lets you create sophisticated 3D charts easily
and quickly.
- In March 2000, it released
PowerPlugs: Backgrounds I & II. Each volume of Backgrounds
includes 200 stunning backgrounds, based on 50 artistic template
styles.
- In June 2000, it released
PowerPlugs: 3D Titles I & II. Each volume includes 30
pre-created 3D animations inspired by television and film. You
can add impressive-looking animated 3D title slides to PowerPoint
presentations in seconds. All animations are customizable.
- In July 2000, it released PowerPlugs:
Photos I & II. Each volume contains 100 unique, professional-quality
photographs depicting key themes, ideas, emotions and symbols associated
with business. They add a professional look to your PowerPoint
presentations and can be used in other multimedia projects as well.
Distribution
CrystalGraphics’ products
are well respected and widely used. They are sold and distributed
directly by CrystalGraphics and Ingram-Micro. They are also sold
through Internet, catalogs, direct mail, VARs and OEMs.
History
Founded in 1986,
the company was an early leader in the professional 3D videographics
industry. In that arena, it is best known for its development of Crystal
TOPAS Professional, which was arguably the first commercially successful
3D animation package for the PC. CrystalGraphics was also the developer
of the 3D-effects creation software for an innovative real-time 3D
effects system widely used by television broadcasters, which won an
Emmy award in 1994. More recently, CrystalGraphics has taken on a
new challenge. That is to break 3D technology out of its traditionally
small niche by developing an all-new line of incredibly easy-to-use
3D animation tools designed for mainstream business users. Its award-winning
product suite now includes, PowerPlugs: 3D Titles I&II, Backgrounds
I & II, Charts, PhotoActive FX I & II, Photos I & II,
SuperShapes I & II, Transitions I & II, Crystal 3D IMPACT
Pro and Crystal 3D VORTEX. These products help business users communicate
more successfully, by helping them easily add professional-looking
still and animated special effects to their presentations, Web sites
and videos.
