1. How easy is the PowerPlugs: AntiSpam product to use?
It's incredibly easy to use PowerPlugs: AntiSpam!
Once you've downloaded the PowerPlugs: AntiSpam software, simply double-click on the Setup.exe file to install the tools into Outlook. The next time you open Outlook, you will see the PowerPlugs: AntiSpam toolbar, which you can drag to any position you want. The position is saved when you close Outlook.

PowerPlugs: AntiSpam is a smart way to protect yourself and your company from the time consuming nuisance that spam mail produces. With PowerPlugs: AntiSpan, you can accurately catch up to 99% of spam. It's private and secure as well as integrates seamlessly into Outlook. PowerPlugs: AntiSpam works with the English versions of Outlook 2000, Outlook 2002/XP, and Outlook 2003.

3. How effective is PowerPlugs: AntiSpam at blocking unwanted spam?
Using a set of highly evolved award-winning, sophisticated spam detection engines, PowerPlugs: AntiSpam's six spam identification engines utilize more than 300,000 algorithms and rules to identify spam. For each incoming message, PowerPlugs: AntiSpam applies the following checks:

  • The SpamBulk engine identifies whether the message or similar messages have been sent in bulk. · The SpamRepute engine identifies the “reputation” of the message. In other words, “Do most people want the message?”
  • The SpamContent engine determines if most people would consider the message offensive.
  • The SpamTricks engine checks to see if the message is formatted or sent to bypass anti-spam rules or to be economical for spammers.
  • The rules database keeps a “fingerprint ID” for every message. Then it compares every incoming message to existing fingerprints in the database to identify spam.
  • The SpamScore engine uses proprietary Bayesian statistical analysis algorithms to calculate results of all of the engines combined, and thus, formulate one final spam probability score.

PowerPlugs: AntiSpam runs all these checks at an incredibly fast rate and it accurately filters up to 99% of spam and gets a near-zero false positive rate.

Spam that is caught by PowerPlugs: AntiSpam is moved to a "Spam blocked by PowerPlugs: AntiSpam" folder under Outlook Today - [Personal Folders]. You may review (and/or delete) the filtered spam messages at anytime by clicking on the "Spam blocked by PowerPlugs: AntiSpam" folder.

4. Does PowerPlugs: AntiSpam contain 'spyware' technology?
No. PowerPlugs: AntiSpam does not contain advertising technologies or so-called 'spyware'.

5. Can I customize the PowerPlugs: AntiSpam spam filters?
Yes. By default, PowerPlugs: AntiSpam automatically adjusts its filtering based on the spam messages you receive. However, if you want to customize the filtering strength of PowerPlugs: AntiSpam, there are numerous options to do so.

6. If I have more than one email ID on my computer, will PowerPlugs: AntiSpam filter spam email for each of my email accounts?
PowerPlugs: AntiSpam will work with multiple Windows accounts on your Windows operating system. However, you will need to install a version of PowerPlugs: AntiSpam for each of these accounts. To do this, log into each account and install PowerPlugs: AntiSpam. You do not have to purchase additional licenses for each Windows account on the same computer.

For Windows 95, 98 and Windows ME, all users share the same PowerPlugs: AntiSpam settings and approve/block lists.

For Windows NT, 2000, and XP, each user has their own PowerPlugs: AntiSpam settings and approve/block lists.

Yes, when your computer is configured in the following way(s) --
Windows 95 or higher
English version of Microsoft Outlook 2000 or higher
Email account is either POP or Microsoft Exchange

2. Can PowerPlugs: AntiSpam be run from a network / virtual drive?
No. PowerPlugs: AntiSpam must be installed onto the local hard drive of an individual PC and run from that PC regardless of whether the host application, Outlook, is running via a network or virtual drive.

2. How much do updates cost?
During your one-year subscription license, updates of PowerPlugs: AntiSpam are FREE! PowerPlugs: AntiSpam automatically downloads updates to spam filters used to analyze your new mail. When your one year subscription period expires, for a minor maintenance fee, you can choose to renew your annual subscription of PowerPlugs: AntiSpam, which, of course, would include free updates to spam filters during that subscription period.
